Hi Everyone,
I was wondering, which would be the best profession to diagnose myofascial pain syndrome (MPS)? A normal doctor, physio/physical therapist, OMS, dentist? I've been looking up this syndrome, trying to come up with a new plan of action to tackle my daily headaches and facial pain, which is slowly getting worse. I believe I have this, but I would like to be officially diagnosed and have a letter written to my boss and my lecturers just so they're aware of what I'm going through on a daily basis, and why some days everything just seems too hard. I have no intentions of using it as an "excuse", I would just like them to be made aware. Due to TMJ being an "invisible" disorder, as I look perfectly healthy, I would just like some form of medical backup to, I guess, prove I'm in chronic pain, as no one seems to understand, and they all look skeptical. I printed out a copy of the "what you need to know about people with chronic pain" list and stuck it on my fridge, and someone has gone past, read it, and added to the bottem of the list "13. whinge a lot", which hurt and made me really angry. Anyways, if anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mel. |
