Question Teflon still "inside"

Implanted after a playful dog met my jaw years ago; tried the repostioning device with no results. The disk dispaced forward - ouchie! After 9 years the implant 'tipped' and was subsequently removed. The torque from my jaw (use) had worn a hole in the teflon coating. So, still have the particles in there. Any news about the effects of this teflon debris? Giant cell reaction was mentioned - scary! I get the ear pops and/or clicking and feeling of pressure/fullness especially in winter. Also, still hear noises when I open and close though they're not the loud, bone-popping kind. Only get those when I move my jaw side to side.... ah well.
