The Interstitial Cystitis Association (ICA)is committed to finding more effective treatments and a cure for interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome (IC/PBS), a painful, chronic bladder condition. The ICA promotes and funds research; educates the medical community and public; advocates for IC patients, healthcare providers, and researchers; and offers support for IC patients and their families.

The ICA

• Promotes a strong IC/PBS federal research agenda, as well as administering two pilot research grant programs
• Educates the medical community via an online toolkit provides healthcare providers with educational resources including a continuing medical education (CME) programming and scientific newsletter (Professional Perspectives).
• Raises awareness about IC/PBS through the ICA website (www.ichelp.org), quarterly consumer magazine (ICA Update), and monthly online news digest (Café ICA).
• Support patients by responding to inquiries from people with IC, family members, healthcare providers, researchers, legislators, and the public.
