TMJA Forum Rules

These TMJA Forum Rules (“Rules”) are in addition to the Privacy Policy (http://tmj.org/privacy.asp) and Website Terms and Conditions of Use (http://tmj.org/aboutsite.asp). You must read and agree to the Rules, Privacy Policy, and Website Terms and Conditions of Use prior to accessing, using, or registering for the forum.

The TMJ Association, Ltd. (“TMJA”) is a non-profit, 501(c)3 tax exempt organization that provides the website as a means to allow on-line discussions between persons dealing with temporomandibular joint and muscle disorders. Information contained on the website does not constitute medical advice, nor is it a substitute for medical advice. Always consult with your doctor before starting, modifying, or terminating any treatment. If you are feeling suicidal, contact a professional suicide counselor immediately. Access and use of the website is contingent upon you abiding by the following rules, in addition to any requirements set forth in the Privacy Policy and Website Terms and Conditions of Use. These Rules may be updated from time-to-time at TMJA’s sole discretion.

1. Do not use your real name, a common username, or specific location information. Information posted on the website is public and available to anyone.

2. Do not post specific doctors’ names, practice names, or hospital names.

3. Inappropriate communications, determined at TMJA’s sole discretion, are not allowed on the website. Moderators can review, edit, or remove any message, private or otherwise, posted or sent via the website for any or no reason.

4. You are not allowed to sell products or services, advertise any products or services, send any unwanted communications (e.g., spam), or solicit any services or other items of value on the website.

5. Your website signature is limited to 2 lines of text and a graphic less than 50 pixels by 50 pixels. TMJA has the right to edit any signature.

6. This website is not for commercial or informational use by doctors, dentists, researchers, business professionals, health care providers, and the like. The website is intended for use only by those suffering from TMJ or dealing with a loved one suffering from TMJ.

7. You may not post copyrighted information without the express written permission of the copyright owner. By posting information, the user represents that he or she owns the copyright to this information or has received appropriate permission.

8. You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to access and/or use this website.
